One option while levelling up a Druid is to go with balance tree and be a Moonkin. Learn about what is needed to level this way and the potential drawbacks.
In the game, World of Warcraft, when playing the druid class, there are a variety of styles that you can play since this hybrid class has so much to offer. One of these playstyle is jokingly referred to as a “Boomkin Druid”. This is combination of Moonkin which is one of the druid forms and the word “boom” since mostly what Moonkin druids do is nuke targets with spells.
At level 40 should you switch to the balance tree?
The earliest that you can play as this druid is level 40 because you finally have enough points to spend in the balance tree to get a Moonkin form. Making the switch is up to you. You will have mana problems trying to level as a moonkin druid. It will be quite a bit slower than levelling as feral because there just isn’t as much gear available for spell casting at that stage that is leather although you can wear cloth. Do what you find to be the most fun since after all it is a game.
Can you play a Boomkin at higher levels?
You can play a balance druid at the highest levels in the game. Some people don’t like playing with these druids as they would rather have you be a tank or healer. You might at times even be asked or expected to heal. This can be quite frustrating because you want to play your character the way you planned. It’s just something to be aware of when grouping with other players.
How should you spend your talents points?
Realistically, if your role is a damage dealer, you will need to spend your points to maximize damage. Be sure to pick up any must have talent points that come along that groups expect a balance druid to have. Gear to maximize damage without running out of mana. There are many guides that will show you what’s best with the latest gear available.
