Dugi’s Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide V2 Review

I had the pleasure of using the new and improved version 2 of Dugi’s Ultimate WoW Guide this weekend.

Whats new about his second release? And does it improve on the old formula?

Read on and find out!

A quick piece of history to start: Dave started out, as most do, with humble beginnings by just writing a small guide which was distributed to friends. Fast forward a few years, and Dugi’s Ultimate WoW guide has served over 10,000 players.

Recently big changes have come to the Ultimate WoW Guide through a complete revamp of the way the in-game leveling guide itself works. Dugi’s old version of the leveling guide included some excellent, but slightly complex tools to help users to level faster… but it might not have been accessible for very new or computer illiterate players.

The new version has done away with these slightly cumbersome add-ons, and replaced them with a very slim line, easy to use automated in-game guide.

The guide appears in your game as a very small, slightly transparent rectangle, which provides “at a glance” information about the quest you’re currently running. The guide is so small it will never get in your way of the game, and if you need more information, you just hover your cursor over the window and you’re given the details.

The window will also show you what the next step entails – an exclamation point (!) means the next coordinates need you to accept a quest, (?) means you need to turn in a quest, and a set of crossed swords means you’re killing mobs at the next point. Very intuitive and well laid out, without taking up a lot of valuable screen real estate.

Dave has also upgraded his guide to include automation features, which means whenever you kill your 20th elemental, or you’ve collected your 5th vial, Dugi’s guide detects your success, and points you to the next quest.

Speaking of pointing the way, Dugi’s guide (like most good leveling guides) includes the TomTom directional arrow which points you towards the next set of coordinates you need to go to, whether that be in the next room, or two zones away.

This means you don’t even need to read the quest text of the quests you’re doing if you don’t want to, which can save you quite a bit of time.

Dugi also offers gold guides, pvp guides, and profession guides as package deals to go along with his leveling guide, and the price is quite reasonable compared to other guides on the market.

If you need a leveling speed boost, and you’d like some extra gold to help you on your way, I give a big thumbs up to Dugi’s guide.
