Herbalism in World of Warcraft – Tips and Secrets For Leveling Up and Making Gold

Article by Missy Deskins

Herbalism is one of the most profitable professions in WOW. Once you get to level five, you need to visit the first herbalism master you can find in order to pick it up. You can track all the herbs on your compass. To begin with, starter areas are filled with tons of silverleaf, peacebloom, and earthroot. As you start to level up, you can pick better plants for more gold.

One of the best places to farm for herbalism, as any good World of Warcraft guide will explain, is the Swamp of Sorrows. Both Horde and Alliance can farm in the Swamp of Sorrows. However, if you’re Alliance, be careful near Stoneard, as many Horde PVP guards surround it. Each liferoot, fadeleaf, kingsblood, and goldthorn you come across will sell for an average of 1-2 gold at the auction house. Imagine having stacks of them! You can easily acquire stacks of 20 within just a few minutes.

In higher levels of the herbalism profession, you need to run around Felwood, Azsahara, Hellfire Peninusula, and Terrokar Forest. The Blasted Lands are your best bet for firebloom and gromsblood, and Un’Goro Crater and The Hinterlands are the best places for sungrass. You can earn at least 2 gold for each plant.

As soon as you can afford to do so, you need to start upgrading your bags. Work your way up to as many slots as you can. Bigger bag upgrades in World of Warcraft are definitely worth the investment. If you want to do alchemy right along with herbalism, that can help save you money in the long run, as you will be able to make your own healing potions and mana potions. Still, be sure to stack up on extra herbs to sell at the auction house as well.
