Need a Guide to World of Warcraft?
The World of Warcraft is a vast game based on the planet of Azeroth. Although there are many little islands on this world, there are three primary continents.
Northrend
Northrend as you might infer from its name is an icy land mass in the northern part of the planet and is the home of the Sourge and the evil Lich King. The frozen plains of The Dragonblight are home to thousands of skeletal remains of once great dragons.
Kalimdor
Kalimdor lies in the west and there the many races of night elves, trolls, orcs, the tauren and draenei make their home. This massive continent has a multitude of micro-evnironments including cold tundras, burning deserts and thick mysterious forests and tropical jungles.
Eastern Kingdoms
The third land is called the Eastern Kingdoms and is really comprised of several small continents reaching skyward with the giant mountain ranges of Redridge and Khaz. Many races call this area home such as the humans, dwarves, and gnomes; but probably the most notable are the elves. There are of course others.
Between these is the vastness of the Great Sea and the Forbidding Sea. The great Maelstrom whirlpool, active for over ten thousand years is centralized in the body of the Great Sea. Beware of this rift.
World of Warcraft Character Choices
Within these lands exist the Horde and the Alliance. Both have long and interesting lore that should be explored. As a payer of World of Warcraft, you will pick sides. You may battle against other players of the opposite side as well as computer controlled characters like those belonging to the Burning Legion.
Picking a server is also a critical first step. If you are to advance through the game without too much frustration, some research in picking a server will do you some good. There are sites that will tell you the percentage of Horde vs. the Alliance and how many of your race there are. They can tell you if the realm (server) is full of WoW experts or a bunch of newbies. There are forums that you can go to and see what kind of environment the realm is. Does it have a bunch of loud mouth unhelpful players or some teachers in the crowd?

Once you have a realm and a race then you must start to consider your class. Not all classes are equal and not all races can be every class. A class is something like hunter, warrior, shaman, druid, etc. Race and class combinations are important factors to get right when setting up your World of warcraft character.
There are many more variables that should be thought out as you build your character and get ready to enter game play.
With all of the complexities of the relationships of factions, the character combinations, WoW Professions, and specific daily quests you will most undoubtedly need a World of Warcraft guide. Hop on over to warriorwarcraft.com to help you on your way to setting up your WoW character and advancing in the game.
