Top World of Warcraft Guides

Today’s top WOW guides differ greatly from the first guides that were available for World of Warcraft many years ago. Not long ago, guides were provided in the form of physical books or ebooks, which made it necessary for players to constantly switch back and form between teh game and the guide, slowing down progress greatly and in many ways defeating the purpose of the guide.

This changed with the introduction of a new generation of WOW guides known as “In-Game” guides. These guides are presented inside the game, utilizing an in-game window that displays the information contained in the guide. Efficiency was improved further with the addition of in-game arrows and waypoints that showed players the way to the next questing spot. Utilizing the newest generation of WOW guides, leveling has never been the same, with players breezing through quests and getting from level 1 to 80 in record time.

There are two in-game guides that I found particularly helpful, and which I will discuss here.

First, there is Zygor’s Guide, an in-game guide that displays quests in a expandable window that gives you a quest order to follow and tracks progress automatically. Arrows inside the game show you where to go next, and the order of the quests are arranged in a way that will help you finish multiple quests in quick sequence every time you leave town. To use this guide, it is a good idea to get large bags since you will be away from town for long periods as you knock off quests one by one. Dugi’s Ultimate WOW Guide is the other guide we like, and in many ways it resembles Zygor’s guide, including features like the optimized quest list. This guide comes with an arrow displayed in-game, that points the player to the next location to go to. We found this guide to be a good deal because it includes extra bonuses such as a gold guide and a pvp guide, however, we did find the guide to have more bugs than Zygor’s guide. Using an in-game guide is by no means a necessity, however, you will discover that by using one, the speed at which you level will increase greatly. While it is difficult to say exactly how much faster we leveled, our testing seemed to indicate that leveling occured roughly twice as fast, if not faster. We also found that using these guides made the game more enjoyable since it removed much of the frustration that can occur in the game (such as not knowing where to go next, or not knowing where to find a certain mobs).
