A.) Always set a buyout price
In real life we live in an “instant gratification” society, the same is true in World of Warcraft. You will find that if an item does not have a buyout a potential buyer will skip over it to purchase an item that does, even if they have to pay significantly more. Search the auction house for items which are the same as the item you are tying to sell. Find the lowest buyout price and set yours a little lower. Undercutting is an easy way to ensure that your item is purchased before those of anyone else.
B.) Opening Bid
Always use a whole number when setting your opening bid. Leave out the silver and copper.
C.) Lean how to “Snipe”
Sniping is waiting until the very end of an auction and then putting in a bid that is slightly higher than the current bid. People do it all the time at the online auction houses. It is really an easy way to get items cheaply. Then you can sell those items for more gold by using an effective opening bid and buyout.
When using the auction house you must remember that the economy in World of Warcraft is much like the real world economy. Sometimes you will find that prices on items are very low over all simply because the market is saturated. When this happens you need to put the item in your bank and keep it until the item is once again in high demand.
