The sheer size of World of Warcraft daunts many players. They go into it and begin their game without any real idea what their ultimate goals are. After playing for a few weeks, it’s possible they’ll know their goals, but then they’ll have only touched the surface of what is within the World of Warcraft universe. It’s not a game that revolves purely around quests, but also a game that focuses heavily on player-versus-player environments. Giving the players the ability to duel and compete adds another dimension to their avatars and results in entirely different character sets. And when there’s ten character classes, two factions with six races each, every character becomes unique. Here are some Warlock PVP guide tips to aid you along.

Warlock PVP

The Warlock isn’t designed to withstand damage and draw aggro and nor is he designed to deal the most damage in the shortest amount of time. In fact, he’s specifically designed to deal damage-over-time (DoT). This means he is to be played in as specific manner.

With three types of Warlock, the choices only expand further. Dependent on your method of gameplay, you can aim towards a Warlock who specializes in Affliction, Destruction or Demonology. They all focus on different gameplay aspects and share skills only in a minimal manner. They should all, however, have a high level of Resilience, 800+, before focusing on other skills.

Affliction is all about regeneration and damage-over-time (DoT). While this means your Warlock will last longer and get in the fight quicker, it also means the fights last longer as it requires you to whittle down your opponent. More importantly, you should develop the character around your own playing style to maximize your performance without sacrificing power.

Demonology focuses on the use of pets. Using them as tanks to take damage to distractions to slow down or deal damage to the opponent is essential, while you do the real damage. Alternatively, you could use them as a sacrifice to buff yourself. This class can also mix a little with the other two in terms of talents.

For those wishing for a somewhat simpler style of gameplay, the Destruction Warlock tries to deal as much damage as possible in the shortest time possible. This results in opponents being beaten down very quickly, but the Warlock can find he needs a certain length of time to recover. However, outfitted correctly, this can become a non-issue against certain opponents.
