World of Warcraft Guide to Warlocks
Warlocks are a unique class found in World of Warcraft. They have the ability to summon powerful demonic minions, cast damage over time spells (dots), or if they so choose devastating direct damage spells.
However, like all the other classes in World of Warcraft, you have to understand the talent trees to fully understand how to play the class to its maximum potential. The basic personal stats for the warlock are stamina and intelligence.
WoW: Warlock Talent Tree
The three trees or specializations for the warlock are destruction, demonology, and affliction.
· The destruction tree gives you the ability to cast awesome direct damage spells.
· The demonology tree gives you a boost to personal stats and makes you demons stronger and more powerful.
· Affliction greatly improves your damage over time spells. (dots)
Warlock Specialization Destruction Tips
When specializing destruction, you need to boost your critical strike rating and your spell damage. Also, it would not hurt to increase your range. I use imp for the stamina boost but many people use the incubus for player vs. player.
Warlock Demonology Specialization Tips
Demonology is a great specialization for leveling, it works really well for farming also.
Demonology really boosts your demonic minion’s stats, abilities and enhances your stats as well. It is a good specialization for player vs. environment. The pet I used most for player vs. environment was felguard. Felguard is a great pet, it can tank, stun, and does great dps. My favorite pet next was felhunter.
Tips for the Warlock Specializing in Affliction
Many people think affliction warlocks aren’t that great at player vs. player. I have to admit, it’s tough but doable. As an affliction warlock, you need to focus all your stats on spell power and stamina.
Don’t worry about critical strike rating. Your damage over time spells are not going to crit. You need to get all the talents in the affliction tree that boost your curses and corruption spells. You are going to be using them. These are your main damage over time spells. As an affliction warlock, I used the felhunter a lot when I pvp. When I pve, I used the voidwalker.
The main thing to remember when playing warlock, Deathcoil and Fear is your friend. Keep these tips in mind and you will rock the WoW world. Don’t get discouraged it takes time and practice but any way your rock the warlock you can devastate and destroy.
