There are many quests within World of Warcraft that give a very nice cash reward, but what many people overlook is the fact that the mobs you are required to kill can drop quite a bit of coin as well.
Here is a very nice tip on how to earn a good bit of gold. To use this tip you will need to have The Burning Crusade expansion and be of the appropriate level to complete the prerequisites for the quest. The quest will become available at level 67.
Head over to Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley. To begin the quest line that will lead you to gold simply speak to Zorus the Judicator when you arrive. He is usually found wandering around the center of the stronghold.
Zorus will give you a quest called “A Ghost in the Machine.” You will need to complete this quest before you can get the one we are going to use to make some cash.
Once you have completed the first quest Zorus will then give you a quest called “Harbingers of Shadowmoon.” It is this quest that you are going to use to make some gold.
Zorus will give you a pair of Spectrecles. This is an item worn on the head that will allow you to see the ghostly harbingers. Once you put on the item you will see the ghosts all over the area right inside Wildhammer Stronghold. The quest calls for you to kill 12 of the harbingers but you can keep right on killing them for as long as you like.

These mobs are level 67 – 69 and but do not hit as hard as mobs of comparable level. When killed they can drop up to 15 silver, netherweave cloth, as well as green and occasionally blue items.
The key to making money with this quest is to keep on killing the harbingers for as long as you like. Do not turn in the quest until you are sure that you never want to farm them again since once the Spectrecles are gone you cannot see the harbingers any longer. Track undead will not reveal them.
The best things about this quest that you will not be harassed by wandering mobs since the harbingers are inside the stronghold and other players who are not doing the quest cannot see what you are killing. This leaves the field open for you to farm.
Tips like this are the reason that you should never resort to buying virtual currency in World of Warcraft. There are too many ways to earn gold to be wasting real world money.
